Artwork Requirements

Our graphics department expects proofread artworks. All texts and information are primarily assumed correct unless it conflicts with printing capabilities. Artworks received should also be 100% sized – meaning the artwork size has been finalized and set at actual size, ready to be printed. Exact Pantone colors are expected, using Pantone Solid Coated book which is accessible through color libraries in Adobe applications, and should be called out on the tech pack. Placement should also be stated. Tech packs/cad sheets/information forms with mockups are a great source of compiled and detailed information that would speed up process.

With today’s technology, we now have a number of options for submitting artwork. CDs,
usb drives, external drives work. Email does, too, but keep in mind that emails have a limitwetransfer on attachment capacity. Be sure to check with your email service provider about this information. We also use WeTransfer, Hightail and, if you have one, we can download from an FTP server, for larger attachments. Cloud services are also useful tools in sending out files.

hightop_250pxRegarding file formats, we do not accept jpeg and gif files. Low resolution images does not translate well into print.

We accept clean, original Photoshop files (.psd) with layers intact at 300 dpi. Bitmap, tiff, eps, DCS 2.0 and postscript files are also accepted. Exceptions are made if artworks are already prepped according to the client’s specific needs.

For vector-based artworks, Illustrator files (.ai) are generally accepted, as well as pdf with preserved editing capabilities. Please make sure fonts are outlined as our font library will not necessarily match with the client’s.
